It’s 4 AM and I’m just now going to bed
The family was busy busy setting everything up and cleaning the house. Procrastination definitely runs in the family. We set up 80% of our decorations up tonight and a third of those we put up after midnight. If we didn’t have family come over for breakfast every year I don’t know if many decorations besides the tree would even be brought in from the attic.
Well, everything is out, places are set, presents are decorated, and there’s a ton of snow outside. Now we get to sleep a couple hours and then it’s time to get back up and start making breakfast for everyone to arrive at 8:30. yea, in the morning. I don’t know why it has to be so early. It was originally set for 8 but the snow pushed us back 30 minutes. Pretty insignificant amount of time.
There was so much snow the church service was cancelled and we couldn’t go to the Christmas party. I can’t believe the church service was cancelled. That’s the icing on the cake for my Christmas. It just doesn’t feel like Christmas without holding a little candle and singing Joy To The World right at midnight. The Christmas service is the chance to see everyone I grew up with and haven’t seen in months or years because of college, jobs, and life.
It’ll feel more like Christmas tomorrow when the house is full with the whole family. Time for a little nap.
